Pakistan announced it’s squad for upcoming ODIs against Sri Lanka

Lahore: Newly elected chief selector and head coach, Misbah ul Haq announced a 16-member squad for upcoming ODIs against Sri Lanka. For Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan 2019, opposition players will be visiting Pakistan on 23rd September, and series will begin from 27th Sep-9 Oct.

Misbah ul Haq during his conference while announcing the squad said,

“After a proper discussion with the members of the PCB and selection committee, we have consciously planned and put forwarded a best squad”.

Head coach and chief selector while addressing in meeting said,

“After discussing with the members of the PCB and selection committee, we have reached to a point where we have diligently planned and selected the best enough squad.” 
The ODI squad comprises of following members:
1)Sarfaraz Ahmed (captain)
2)Babar Azam
3)Shadab Khan
4)Abdi Ali
5)Asif Ali
6)Fakhar Zaman
7)Usman Shinwari
8)Haris Sohail
9)Muhammad Hasnain
10)Iftikhar Ahmed
11)Imad Wasim
12)Imam-ul-Haq
13)Mohammad Amir
14)Mohammad Nawaz
15)Wahab Riaz
16)Mohammad Rizwan

Iftikhar Ahmed. Abid Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Shinwari have earned a recall from PCB to the. Where as, Hassan Ali will be missing out due to back pain. Also M.Hafeez, Umar Akmal, and Ahmad Shahzad are not the part of squad.

On this, Misbah added,

“This is a perfect chance for these players to prove their potential and the potential in international cricket and to fix their place in the ODIs”.

However, squad for T20s will be announced in between ODIs by selection committee.
