The most legendary Pakistani pacer of all time also known as ‘king of swing’ all over the world, Wasim Akram is most likely to become chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB)’s Cricket Committee. The post of chairman, however, was occupied by CEO Wasim Khan who just has stepped down from the post.
According to the reliable sources, Wasim Akram is leading the list of the candidates for the relevant position.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has also started to search for the other members of the committe. Wasim Khan is expected to be the only representative in PCB in the new structure of the committee.
Earlier, PCB have decided to make Cricket Committee an independent body. PCB had decided to include former cricketers. Pakistan’s head coach-cum-chief selector also left the committee after being appointed into his dual role for the national side.
The PCB is anticipated to conclude the new committee within the next two weeks. The committee is presumed to hold its first meeting before the Men in Green’s series against Bangladesh.
The members of the committee will be working without any financial profits. They will, however, receive allowances for participating, hotel and daily expenditures.
